Who are the believers?
Did you ever realize that all believers are descendants of the fallen Adam?
Dead in sin (Eph. 2:1), estranged from God (Eph. 2:12) and condemned. But one day, we believed in the Lord Jesus and received the forgiveness of sins.
We were not only forgiven, but all of our sins were washed away. There is no stain of sin in us because of the blood of Jesus.
Not only so, when we called on the Lord, He came into our spirit (Rom. 8:9), enlivened us, and regenerated (John 3:6) us. We became sons of God (Rom. 8:16) instead of enemies of God (Rom. 5:10).
We became heirs of God Himself (Eph. 14). What an inheritance we have! And in Christ, we are even made God’s inheritance (Eph. 1:18). The believers, who once were called children of wrath are now the priests of God, serving Him (Rev. 1:6).
We became slaves of God and slaves of Christ (Rom. 6:22, 1 Cor. 7:22), yet we have been released from every kind of bondage (Luke 13:6, John 8:32).
And, we were made members of Christ’s body (1 Cor. 6:15) with many different functions (Rom. 12:4-5) joined and built together to be one Body, no matter our race, culture or nationality—for Christ is all and in all (Col. 3:11).
In the kingdom, we will be co-kings with Christ, reigning with Him over the nations, shepherding them on earth (Rev. 2:26-27).
Aren’t you glad you are a believer?
