God’s will is…, well, God’s will

When we consider the will of God, we usually think that the focus is on us
—that God has a specific will for my life.

But what does the Bible say about God’s will?  Have you ever considered that the will of God is not for our needs?

The will of God is for God’s purpose.

There is only one verse in the whole Bible that tells us why every thing exists.

  • You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor… for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created. (Rev. 4:11)

-Do you know why you were created?

Because of God’s will.

-Our birth, when we were born, even where we were born was not an accident.

It is because of God’s will that we are. We are on this earth because of God’s will.

You might think, “So what?”
-Well, we still need to ask, “What is God’s will for me?”

God’s will is simply what He wants and what He intends to have.

So, in eternity past God began doing certain things because of His will.

According to Ephesians 1, God had a purpose in His heart before anything existed.

No angels, no universe, not time and space, not even you. Still,

  • He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish before Him in love. (Eph. 1:4)

God chose you before the foundation of the world that you would eventually appear on earth.

Regardless of our present situation,
Because of His will, we will be holy and without blemish before God in love.

Even if we don’t want to, we will be—because we are dealing with someone called God, who has a will.

He chose you, and then

  • Predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will (Eph. 1:5)

He even determined our eternal destiny, according to His will.

-The only thing we can say about it is when we will reach it, not whether we will reach it.
-Our destiny is clear: we will be sons of God, fully grown, according to the good pleasure of His will.
-And this happens by God coming in Christ and dispensing Himself into us until we become His full expression here on earth.

This is what makes God happy and what gives Him joy.

This is His will for your life.

And your destiny.

That you would be a son of God, holy, without blemish before Him in love.
Decided before the creation of the world.
Because of His will for you.
