Christ as the Son of God is the “effulgence of God’s glory (Heb. 1:3). What does this mean? God has a glory, a shining out, and this glory is His Son (John 1:18). In the Bible, glory always refers to God manifested, God expressed.
What is our story regarding God’s glory? We can let the Bible tell us the story:
Rom 3:23—For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Yes, everyone of us.
Col 1:27— To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. But we have a hope!
2 Cor 3:18—But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. Our hope is being worked out as we behold Him.
Phil 3:21—Who will transfigure the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of His glory, according to His operation by which He is able even to subject all things to Himself. By means of His operation in us.
1 John 3:2—Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been manifested what we will be. We know that if He is manifested, we will be like Him because we will see Him even as He is. This is His promise to us.
For the Bible tells us so!
