- For I delivered to you, first of all, that which also I received, that Christ died for our sins… (1 Cor. 15:3).
…for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. (Heb. 7:27).
So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many… (Heb. 9:28)
- But this One, having offered one sacrifice for sins, sat down forever on the right hand of God (Heb. 10:12)
In the eyes of God, sin is over and has been washed away. His sitting in heaven is proof that the taking away of sins has been accomplished!
We do not need to wonder if we are forgiven or not; His redemption is eternal.
- …through His own blood, entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, obtaining an eternal redemption. (Heb. 9:12)
Verse 3 in the hymn “God our Father, We Adore Thee” by Witness Lee says:
Judged the Just One for the unjust,
Couldst Thou change Thy attitude?
As a proof of perfect justice,
At Thine own right hand He sits;
He, as Thy full satisfaction,
Righteously Thy need befits.
We still live in our fallen human life, and we continue to commit sin. This is why we sometimes feel guilt, separation from God, and even accusations from Satan. But because of Christ’s blood, our sin is washed away.
- If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.(1 John 1:7)
