Ascension—The Highest Name

The Lord Jesus humbled Himself to the uttermost—becoming a man and being obedient even to death on the cross.

Concerning His ascension, Paul says “Wherefore also God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name.” (Phil. 2:9)

Since the Lord’s ascension, there has never been a name in history above the name of Jesus. This man Jesus was exalted by God to be the Lord of all.

Paul doesn’t stop here. He goes on to say “That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue should openly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” (vv. 10-11)

We should confess the Lord’s name openly! What a glory to God!

The crucified life of the Lord Jesus led to His being exalted by God. Listen to how we can experience His crucified life as a pattern.
